Here three method for the apply messaging app layout.

1. Download and apply direct from the official theme app. 
2. Import mtz file on theme app, if you download it from the online sources. 
3. If you want to used any particular theme's messaging app layout. 

Method 1

This is the one of easy method. For that firstly you need to find your messaging app layout form the theme app. Now download it and apply. 

Method 2

Suppose you download mtz file for the messaging app layout from the online sources and want to apply on your current theme. First of all you need to import this file on the theme app. You can easily import this file as theme import. open your theme app and go to My page and click on the customize theme. Here select messaging layout and choose file you want to apply. 

Method 3

Firstly import that theme which theme's messaging app layout you want to apply. Now follow below steps carefully. 

Step 1:  First of all open your "Theme" App, Which is comes pre-installed on your Mi device.

Step 2: In your theme  App click on "profile"(My Page).

Step 3: Now click on "customize theme".(easily see in below image)

Step 4: Here select  "Messaging". It comes with the default if don't use any theme. 

Step 5: Choose your Messaging layout which you want to apply in your device and click on Apply.
